Mediterranean - Amalfi

The Amalfi is the base of our three gifts in our Mediterranean collection featuring the quintessential ingredients of the Mediterranean diet: olive oil and bread. Our handcrafted extra-virgin olive oil, Olio Fresco, is harvested and pressed the same week. Robust, fruit-forward olives this year produced an oil bright green in color with golden reflections. It has an intense aroma of herbal marks and apple peel overtones. The taste is incredibly fresh - grassy and buttery, with a peppery finish.

Balsamic vinegar from Modena in Emilia Romagna, Italy is the perfect complement to our oil. This balsamic vinegar is one of the finest of its type --- round and full bodied with a smooth finish and tangy accents. Add some to the olive oil for inspired dipping! A walnut peasant loaf from renowned bakery Amy's Bread completes the picture. This dense, crusty bread laden with walnuts is made locally in NYC. The bread is crafted using old world methods with a two step rising process that adds texture and increases flavor. This gift also includes a knife to cut the bread and a porcelain dipping dish.
